Major research contributions / notable work
1. fractionated and characterized humic acids based on their degree of humification;
2. developed a bi-variant equation combining both carbon dioxide and methane to determine microbial biomass of soil ;
3. A HPLC based protocol was developed to quantify coenzyme M in soil to measure methanogen activity and methane producing potential of a soil;
4. A technology was developed to prepare a solution of humic substrates by recycling tea factory waste;
5. A package of practice was standardized for using mica waste along with indigenous potassium-solubilizing bacteria as an alternative of potassium supplement in soil;
6. isolated phytase-producing microorganisms from tea soil and tested their potentials as biofertilizers.
