Major research contributions / notable work

1. Three species of tortricid moths of the subfamily Olethreutinae (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), viz., Acanthoclita acrocroca Diakonoff, 1982, Age onychistica Diakonoff, 1982 and Bactra coronata Diakonoff, 1950, were recorded for the first time from India. The species, Acroclita cheradota Meyrick, 1912 is transferred from Acroclita Lederer, 1859 to Ancylophyes Diakonoff, 1988 as Ancylophyes cheradota (Meyrick, 1912) comb. nov.
2. Catalogue of Indian Stathmopodidae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea): The first comprehensive catalogue of Indian Stathmopodidae documenting 53 species belonging to 10 genera and 3 subfamilies, providing detailed information on their type localities, type depositories, geographic distribution, host spectrum analysis, and references to available illustrations.
3. New Species and new country records of Scarab beetles from North East India: Two new species of Scarab beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) were described from Northeast India: Cyphochilus kukriana Sreedevi, Sahoo & Sabatinelli, 2025, from Arunachal Pradesh and Cyphochilus pentaphysia Sreedevi, Sahoo & Sabatinelli, 2025, from Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. Cyphochilus tenzingyatsoi, a species earlier known only from Tibet, reported for the first time in India (Arunachal Pradesh).
4. New records of two genera of the subfamily Olethreutinae (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) previously unknown from India: Toonavora Horak, 2006 and Argyroptocha Diakonoff, 1968.
5. Taxonomic revision of the genus Ophiorrhabda Diakonoff, 1966 (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) with detailed redescriptions of four Indian species: O. cellifera (Meyrick, 1912), O. mormopa (Meyrick, 1906), O. harmonica (Meyrick, 1905) and O. philocompsa (Meyrick, 1921). Two species, O. harmonica and O. philocompsa represent new records for the Indian fauna.
