Major research contributions / notable work
1. Developed several value added fish products.
2. Extensively worked on alternative raw fish suitability in Surimi (Japanese word for washed fish mince).
3. Established the mechanism for fish protein & plant phenolics interaction for improving the quality and gel properties of dark muscle fish.

1. Three years Fellowship for International Ph D Programme from Faculty of Agro-Industry, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.
2. Excellent Doctorate Thesis Award for the Academic year 2008 on the work titled “Enhancement of Gel strength of surimi using oxidized phenolic compounds” from Faculty of Agro-Industry, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.
3. Appreciation certificate from Dr B. S. Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli for receiving a prestigious International Excellent Doctorate Thesis Award.
